Parul University Signs MOU with Vadodara City Police to Strengthen Cyber Crime Awareness and Research

Vadodara-based Parul University signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Cyber Crime Police Station, Vadodara City Police, for the joint development of cyber crime awareness, research, and technical expertise among both students and faculty. The MOU was signed by Honourable Police Commissioner Shri Narsimha Komar Saheb, the Vice President and Chancellor of Parul University, in the presence of other directors, professors, and core research faculty. This landmark partnership marks a major milestone towards a cyber-aware and digitally resilient society.

The partnership aims at making an impact on knowledge sharing, skill acquisition, and applied research in the areas of cybersecurity and cybercrime investigation by merging academic theoretical knowledge with law enforcement practical experience. Parul University will be giving technical support and research resources to the Cyber Crime Unit, while students and professors will learn practical knowledge of real cybercrime problems. The collaboration will take place through various forms like workshops, training programmes, expert lectures, and joint research initiatives in areas such as cyber threat analysis, digital forensics, cyber defence and AI-driven cybersecurity. Besides that, there will also be opportunities for student internships, academic projects, and cyber awareness programmes to promote a safer digital ecosystem.

The MOU's execution will be monitored by an Executive Committee made up of high-ranking police officials, faculty members from Parul University, and representatives from the community and outreach departments. The committee's tasks will include training programme design, research area prioritisation, student and faculty participation facilitation, and output reviewing for dissemination and policy-level application, all under strict confidentiality and security measures.

Speaking on the occasion, the university representatives pointed out that the MOU consolidates Parul University’s dedication to joining hands with the industry and the government, providing experiential learning, and being socially responsible. The Vadodara City Police underlined the necessity of having academic alliances in tackling the fast-changing nature of cybercrime and enhancing the capabilities of investigation and prevention. "Cybercrime has become a very real threat, and it is necessary to increase public awareness about it. This collaboration opens up a way for our students and faculty to learn from real-world experiences,” adds Dr. Geetika Patel, Vice President, Parul University.
