MHT CET 2025 Merit List Explained: How It’s Prepared & Used

The MHT CET results are set to be released in June 2025. Along with the results for the examination, the merit list for the MHT CET exam is expected to be released as well. The merit list helps students understand their overall standing on the MHT CET examination. It also helps students know which colleges they will be eligible to get admission into. MHT CET 2025 Merit List Important Details

The rank list for the MHT CET examination is expected to be released in the first week of August 2025. The rank list will be available in the online mode for students to view in the PDF format. Students who are shortlisted on the MHT CET merit list will be allowed to sit for the MHT CET counselling process. The relevant authorities will release different MHT CET merit lists for different categories. 

There will be two rank lists published for the MHT CET examination. After the release of the provisional MHT CET rank list, a second list will be published later. The final merit list will be released after students submit their objections to the provisional merit list.

How is the MHT CET Merit List Prepared? 

The merit list for the MHT CET examination is mainly prepared on the basis of a student’s performance on the MHT exam. The amount of marks scored on the examination determines a student’s position on the MHT CET rank list. If two students score the same score on the MHT CET exam, a tie-breaking process is followed. 

MHT CET Tie-Breaking

The tie-breaking process for the MHT CET exam is done on a priority-list basis by comparing students in various categories. The process and priority list is as follows: 

• Firstly, the scores in Mathematics are compared. 
• If that fails, then the scores of the students’ performances on the Physics section will be compared. 
• If the tie still persists, then the Chemistry scores will be compared. 
• If a tie is still persisting, the students’ overall scores on their board examinations will be compared.
• If a tie still exists, students’ performances on their class 12th examinations or equivalent will then be evaluated. This is done for the Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry subjects. 
• Students with a higher score in all of these categories will be given an overall preference and rank over other students. 

MHT CET Merit List Download Guide

1. Students should visit the official MHT CET website at cetcell.mahacet.org.
2. Students should then select the ‘merit list’ option. 
3. After that, students will be required to fill in their required credentials. This includes their application ID and date of birth. 
4. The merit list for the MHT CET exam should load on a new page. Students should download the merit list for the future reference.
