How is the MHT CET Merit List Prepared?
The merit list for the MHT CET examination is mainly prepared on the basis of a student’s performance on the MHT exam. The amount of marks scored on the examination determines a student’s position on the MHT CET rank list. If two students score the same score on the MHT CET exam, a tie-breaking process is followed.
MHT CET Tie-Breaking
The tie-breaking process for the MHT CET exam is done on a priority-list basis by comparing students in various categories. The process and priority list is as follows:
- Firstly, the scores in Mathematics are compared.
- If that fails, then the scores of the students’ performances on the Physics section will be compared.
- If the tie still persists, then the Chemistry scores will be compared.
- If a tie is still persisting, the students’ overall scores on their board examinations will be compared.
- If a tie still exists, students’ performances on their class 12th examinations or equivalent will then be evaluated. This is done for the Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry subjects.
- Students with a higher score in all of these categories will be given an overall preference and rank over other students.
