The JENPAS UG 2025 examination was set to take place on 25th May 2025. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, the examination was delayed, with no updates on the new schedule for the exam. Why is JENPAS UG Delayed?
The JENPAS UG examination has been delayed due to legal issues. The biggest reason causing the delay being inadequate information from the central admission process. ‘Category’ details were not properly compiled as in accordance with the Calcutta High Court, dated 17th June 2025. An interim stay has been put on the compilation of lists of OBC communities by the State Government. Currently, a special leave petition has been pending with the Supreme Court leading to further inadequate data collection, contributing to the delay in completing the JENPAS application process.
The JENPAS UG exam is not the only examination delayed due to this reason. Several major entrance exams in the state of West Bengal have been delayed due to this reason as well.

Will JENPAS UG Take Place This Year?
Currently there is no concrete proof whether the JENPAS UG examination will take place this year. As of now, there is no sign of a new schedule being released for the JENPAS examination. The resolving of the required legal issue is instrumental for the examination to take place. Without the resolving of the issue, the examination could be further delayed.
However, students do remain hopeful that the JENPAS UG exam will take place in 2025, or admissions could be based through other forms of merit such as class 12th scores. On the other hand, some students do remain apprehensive that the exam will take place at all. The lack of communication on behalf of the relevant authorities further adds to the doubts shared by concerned students.

- Look for other entrance exams. While this is certainly not easy, if students have the option to do so, they can look to cracking other exams in order to not be held down by the current situation with the JENPAS UG examination.
