The Felix Scholarship is a prestigious award that seeks to support high achieving, economically disadvantaged students from increased economic context, India and other developing countries to access postgraduate study in the UK at leading institutions such as the University of Oxford, the University of Reading and SOAS. Each year it selects about 20 outstanding candidates who receive full support across a wide range of subjects (excluding medicine). In addition to financial support, successful scholars can access world-class education and exciting opportunities for personal and intellectual growth.

Felix Scholarship 2025 – Key Eligibility Criteria

  • Nationality Requirement: Available to citizens of countries classified as developing countries by the World Bank, including India.
  • Academic Merit: You must have a first-class degree (undergraduate level) from a recognized university.
  • Offer of Admission: You must have an offer of admission for a full-time postgraduate programme (master's or PhD) from the University of Oxford, University of Reading, or SOAS, University of London.
  • Financial Need: It must be established that you do not have the financial resources to study in the UK without the help of a scholarship.
  • Commitment to your Home Country: Your intention should be to return after your studies and contribute to the development of your home country.
  • International Study: You cannot have been outside your home country for one year or longer in study. This exception does not apply to any PhD applicants who previously studied for their master's degree under the Felix Scholarship.
  • English Language: You will need to have the adequate level of English, typically by using tests such as IELTS or TOEFL as directed by the university.

Choose either the University of Oxford, University of Reading, or SOAS University of London.

  1. Check Eligibility Criteria

Confirm that you qualify for the eligibility criteria set by your chosen university.

  1. Application for Admission

Submit an application to your chosen postgraduate degree program (or combination of programs) at the selected university.

  1. Prepare Documentation

Obtain required documents (transcripts, letters of recommendation, personal statement, financial need, etc.)

  1. Submit a Scholarship Application

The application process will differ depending on each university (further details below).

Felix Scholarship 2025 Selection Process

Administered by the University of Oxford, the University of Reading, and SOAS University of London, the multi-step decision process makes sure that only the most suitable candidates will receive the scholarship. The process includes verifying eligibility, closely examining the application materials, interviewing the candidates to assess motivation and potential future contributions, and a final selection made by the scholarship committees.
