The CBSE 10 English language & literature exam was conducted on 15 February 2025 during the day shift from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. It was considered to be moderate to easy on the difficulty scale.

Exam Structure & Content
The question paper was divided into the three standard sections:
- Section A: Reading Skills (20 marks) - Unseen Passages/Reading Comprehension
- Section B: Grammar and Writing Skills (20 marks) - Objective Questions, Letter and Paragraph Writing
- Section C: Literature (40 marks) - Extract Based Questions and Descriptive Questions
The written test makes up the 80 marks and the remaining 20 were allotted to internal assessment.
Expert Opinion & Student Feedback
Subject teachers noted that the paper was well balanced and most of the questions were direct. They emphasized the importance of understanding literary terms, themes and messages from the chapters.
As for the students, some of them found the sample papers provided by CBSE more difficult than the actual exam. Though some of them found the writing section slightly tougher due to vague wordings and ambiguity in the questions.
Overall the paper was a fair assessment of the student’s language abilities.
