The State Government of Bihar has initiated a project titled 'The Kushal Yuva Program (KYP)' in the favor of the youth. The project is being implemented by the Bihar Skill Development Mission (BSDM) to carry on a project for the Department of Labour Resources.
For the continuity of the Kushal Yuva Program, registration, and modern employment counseling centers are being established in all districts of the state. Youth will be provided training in the medium of Hindi and English two languages, communication skills, basic computer knowledge, and other skills for youth to find all kinds of employment opportunities.
A Skill Development Centre will be established in each block of every district under this scheme. These centres will be allotted to private institutions, through a tendering system as training operations. Private individuals or institutions can also be allocated to operate the centre in the building they own.
Under the Kushal Yuva Program training will be provided to the youth in Hindi & English language, communication skills, basic computer knowledge & behavioral skills. The training would be provided in the styles of:
- 80 hours for Language Skills
- 120 hours for Computer Skills
- 40 hours for Behavioral Skills
Thus, the total training will be of 240 hours achieved over a period of three months.
The training under the Kushal Yuva Program officially began at the Skill Development Centers on 15th November 2016.
Kushal Yuva Program (KYP) 2025 – Eligibility Criteria
- This program is available to unemployed youth who are male or female, aged between 15-25, not in formal education, and looking for work. They must be a qualified person, having passed Class 10 and/or Class 12, from an institution recognized by a board/examination council established by the State Government.
- The applicant must be a domicile(resident) of Bihar.
- Unemployed youth who are givers of the Self-Help Allowance must mandatorily complete a training course focused on language and communication skills, behavioral skills, and basic computer knowledge at the block level training centers.
- Students who want to receive skill development training, and are aged between 15- 25 years, having completed Class 10 should noteworthy be able to complete training to receive a skill development course through the Kushal Yuva Program, even if they are unable to continue in academic school for any reason.
Kushal Yuva Program (KYP) 2025 – Important Application Guidelines
- All applications must only be submitted through online mode.
- Applicants who have passed Class 10 and are aged between 15 and 25 years or have passed Class 12 and are aged between 15-25 years, and they meet all the eligibility conditions can apply online through the official portal.
- First, the applicant has to fill in general information on the portal. After submitting the general information section, the applicant will receive a unique registration number on their registered mobile number and email ID.
- By entering this unique registration number on the portal, the applicant will get access to three schemes to choose from for further applications.
- Once the applicant has one of the scheme options selected, he/she will be able to get the online application form of that scheme only.
- The applicant may apply only for the Kushal Yuva Program and if the applicant chooses to apply for the Self-Help Allowance, he/she must fill in all the details of the Kushal Yuva Program in the same application form.
- The applicant does not have to submit a separate application for this Kushal Yuva Program if he/she applies for the Self-Help Allowance.
- After the online application is submitted, the applicant's will receive the confirmation receipt along with the unique registration number by SMS and email on their mobile number and email ID he/she applied with.
Kushal Yuva Program (KYP) 2025 – Important Information to Remember
- Document Submission Process
- After the KYP online application has been successfully submitted, the applicant can expect to receive an email confirming receipt and with a list of documents required along with a PDF of the completed application form.
- The applicant will be notified of a specific date and time to attend the District Registration and Counseling Center (DRCC) for document verification with a minimum of one week's notice by both email and SMS.
- Applicants aged 15-25 years who completed the 10th grade but are not currently pursuing any other education can also apply to the Kushal Yuva Program online through the portal.
- Document Requirements at the DRCC
- A printed signed document of the online application with a passport-sized photo attached
- Self-attested photocopies of the requested documents
- All original certificates must be brought in for verification.
- Token and Entry Process
- Once the applicant arrives at the DRCC, the applicant will be given a token number upon entry.
- The applicant will enter into the document verification hall when the token number appears on the electronic screen.
- When the token number is called, the applicable must bring the following:
- All original documents
- Self-attested copies of each document
- Printed signed copy of KYP application
Original documents will be scanned and returned to the applicant with a written acknowledgment/receipt stating that document verification has been successfully completed.
Kushal Yuva Program (KYP) 2025 – Required Documents
Individuals looking to register for the Kushal Yuva Program 2025 in response to the Bihar Skill Development Mission (BSDM) must submit a self-attested copy of the following documents at the District Registration and Counseling Center (DRCC) with the printed application form.
Mandatory Documents:
- 10th/12th marksheet/certificate or a similar equivalent qualification
- Date of Birth shown in either the 10th class certificate or equivalent.
- Domicile (Residential Certificate) - proof that the applicant is a permanent resident in the State of Bihar.
- Bank Account - A photocopy of the first page of the applicant's bank passbook (in a scheduled bank, not regional rural banks) which shows:
- Applicant's name
- Address
- Bank Account Number
- IFSC Code of the branch
- Aadhaar Card - A valid identification proof issued by the government.
Kushal Yuva Program (KYP) 2025 – Responsibilities of Trainees
Participants enrolled in the Kushal Yuva Program 2025 under Bihar Skill Development Mission (BSDM) are expected to meet the following trainee responsibilities during the training period:
Trainee Responsibilities:
- Attendance – All trainees must attend the training center regularly and on time.
- Security Deposit – All eligible candidates not receiving Self Help Allowance will have to submit a ₹1000 deposit to BSDM through the training center. The security deposit is refundable upon successful completion of the training.
- Self Help Allowance Candidates – Candidates applying for the Self Help Allowance are required to not receive the final 5-month installment until the candidate submits a certificate of completion of a successful course.
- Discipline – Trainees will conduct themselves with discipline within the training center.
- Time Frame – All trainees will complete the training in the specified timeframe.
- Certification Exam – All trainees will attend the Certification examination and pass the exam to get certification.
KYP 2025 – Responsibilities of the Training Provider Agency
Authorized training partners need to maintain a structured and optimal learning environment at Skill Development Centers (SDCs).
Training Provider Responsibilities:
- Infrastructure - Ensure all basic infrastructure that entails provision of seating, drinking water, clean restrooms at the SDCs and other.
- Training Quality - Services to maintain the education quality and standards throughout the program.
- Training Resources - To successfully provide provision of learning aids and equipment at the training provider.
- Learning Materials - Distribute all Trainees training materials provided by BSDM.
- Regular Classes - Ensure classes take place on every date on all working days, as per the Mission's official holidays.
- Course Completion & Certifications - Complete the batch training and certification processes within the 3 month period permissible.
Kushal Yuva Program (KYP) 2025 – Step-by-Step Online Registration Guide
How to Enroll for KYP 2025:
- Click on “New Registration” from the official surviving website.
- Type your Name, Mobile Number, Email ID, and the CAPTCHA code. Click on the “Send OTP” button.
- The OTP will be sent to you through SMS on your registered mobile and email.
- Enter the OTP and Click on submit.
- A confirmation message will pop up. Ensure your typed details match what was registered.
- Upon a successful registration, you will receive a message confirming registration.
- You will receive an SMS to your mobile, and an email which will entail your username and password to log in.
- Go back to the home portal of the surviving website www.7nischay yuvaupmission.bihar.gov.in, and enter your username and password to log in.
- Upon your first login, change your password.
- Return to the homepage again and log in with your new password.
- Input your personal details, and hit the “Submit” button.
- A confirmation message will pop-up. Click “OK” for confirming the details.
- Click “NEXT” for navigating to the program selection screen.
- From the drop-down menu, select any desired scheme.
- Select “Kushal Yuva Program” and click on “I Apply Now.”
- Fill out the application form, tick the declaration checkbox, and submit.
- A confirmation message will be displayed.
- A PDF copy of the application acknowledgment will be generated. You can download or print it for future reference.
