Latest Update: Applications for UG courses in 2023 are now being accepted via the Admission Test (PUBDET2023), and the deadline for submission was January 31. Moreover, May 20 and May 21 will be used to administer PUBDET 2023. The deadline for PG course admission in 2023 will soon be announced. 24 UG (3-year) and 28 PG (2-year) students were placed at Presidency University Kolkata placements in 2022, according to the NIRF report 2023. During placements in 2022, the median compensation provided to UG (3-year) and PG (2-year) students was INR 4 LPA and INR 7.24 LPA, respectively.
Presidency University has a unique place in history. It was one of the first institutes of Western-type higher education in Asia. In 1817, a group of enlightened Indians and Englishmen set up the Hindoo College.This was taken over the British Government in 1855 as the College of the Bengal Presidency, and placed in 1857 under the newly founded Calcutta University. The formal establishment of Presidency University in July 2010 allows it to refashion its venerable traditions and continuing strengths into a leading institution of the future. Presidency University, Kolkata (formerly Presidency College, Kolkata) is the second major public state-aided research university in Kolkata, located on College Street. When Presidency College was affiliated with the University of Calcutta, it was regarded as one of the best colleges in the country.
Presidency received an A grade from the NAAC in its first cycle as a university, with a score of 3.04/4.00. The UGC has designated the presidency as a "Institute of National Eminence." In 2016, it was named to the inaugural list of the top 50 institutions in the NIRF rankings. However, in 2017 and 2018, NIRF rankings excluded universities such as Presidency University, which taught only science and humanities but not engineering, commerce, agriculture, and so on.

Presidency University Kolkata Admission
Presidency University Kolkata admission is based on WBJEE entrance exams such as PUBDET for UG admission 2020 and PUMDET for PG admission 2020. For Doctoral course admission, a Ph.D. Entrance Test is held at the university level. For PG admission, students must have a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree for research-level doctoral admission. Admission to the various courses offered here will be sealed if you score a certain cut off.
