Swami Vivekananda Institute of Science and Technology, popularly known as SVIST, is an engineering college established in 2008 in Kolkata. The college comes under the aegis of the Swami Vivekananda Group of Institutes. It is affiliated to the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT) and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). It has also received ISO 9001:2008 certification and accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
SVIST offers engineering, management, tourism, science and computer applications courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The courses offered are B. Tech, BBA, BCA, BTTM, BSc, Polytechnic, MSc and MBA. B. Tech is offered under several specializations, namely, computer science, electrical & electronics, electronics & communication, mechanical and civil. BSc is offered in Hospitality & Hotel Administration, Microbiology, Media Science and Biotechnology. Admissions in the Institute is based on entrance exams.
