Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati, widely referred to IIT Tirupati, accepts online mode of application. Interested candidates can fill the application form by visiting the official website of the institute. The institute primarily offers programs at the undergraduate and postgraduate level. It also offers programs at the Doctorate level. These programs are offered under several specializations.
Candidates seeking admission to any of the programs offered by the institute must make sure that they are eligible for admission. They must ensure that they fulfill the minimum educational qualification. Following are the minimum educational criteria that must be fulfilled by a candidate for admission to IIT Tirupati:
Minimum Educational Qualification
For Undergraduate programs
- For admission to B. Tech, the candidates must have passed senior secondary school securing at least 75% marks (70% marks for reserved categories) in aggregate from a recognized board.
- Candidates who have passed any equivalent qualifying examination from any recognized board are also eligible to apply.
- Candidates with top 20 percentile in senior secondary school can also apply for admission.
For postgraduate programs
- Candidates seeking admission to M. Tech and MS by Research must have completed BE/B. Tech in the relevant field or graduates from IITs must have secured 8.0 CGPA.
For admission to the Ph.D. program offered by the Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati, the candidates must hold a master’s degree in the relevant field.
Candidates possessing ME/M. Tech/MS by Research or M. Sc degree in the relevant field are also eligible to apply for admission to Ph.D.
Admission to B. Tech at the Indian Institute of Technology, Tirupati
IIT Tirupati Courses offer B. Tech program at the undergraduate level. The program is offered under four specializations namely Computer Science & Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering.
- The candidates are shortlisted based on the marks obtained by them in JEE Main and JEE Advanced examinations.
- Shortlisted candidates are required to sit through the counseling process conducted at the institute.
The counseling procedure is conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA).
Admission to M. Tech and MS by Research at the Indian Institute of Technology, Tirupati
- Candidates seeking admission to M. Tech and MS by Research must have qualified GATE examination with a valid score.
- For admission to M. Tech, candidates who have scored more than 80% marks in BE or B. Tech are not required to hold GATE score.
- The candidates are shortlisted based on their performance in the GATE examination.
In case of admission to MS by Research, the candidates are additionally required to qualify the written entrance examination followed by personal interview round conducted by IIT Tirupati.
For admission to Ph.D., the candidates must hold a valid score of GATE/CSIR NET/UGC NET/NBHM entrance examination followed by written entrance examination or personal interview round conducted at the institute.
Application procedure of the Indian Institute of Technology, Tirupati
Interested candidates must visit the official website of IIT Tirupati in order to register themselves for admission.
They must fill the application form available online and process the payment of INR 100 (INR 50 for Reserved categories) as application fee through online payment modes such as net banking, credit card or debit card.
They must retain a photocopy of the duly filled application form for future reference.
