NEET PG 2024 Latest News: The NEET-PG Exam has been rescheduled and the new exam date is expected to be announced by the NBEMS and NTA in the coming week. Dr. Abhijat Sheth, President of NBEMS recently posted on X, formerly Twitter “New exam date will be declared soon within 1 week”. The NEET PG Exam was scheduled for June 23, 2024, but the claims of the NEET UG Question Paper being leaked led to the postponement of the NEET PG Exam. The Exam was cancelled just 12 hours before it was scheduled, which means that the cancellation news broke out on the 22nd of June 2024.

Recently, a controversy concerning the NEET UG Exam has been making rounds on social media. Let us try and understand the controversial matter in detail. The NEET UG Exam was held on May 5, 2024, as was scheduled by NTA. However, the exam quickly turned to a controversy when the NEET UG result which was originally supposed to be released on 14th June was declared on 4th June. along with that, it was also brought to notice that 8 students from the same coaching institute had secured an AIR 1, and had scored almost a perfect score of 718 - 720, which is practically impossible in the NEET Exam. This created a huge outrage among the NEET aspirants, and the integrity of a prestigious exam like NEET has been compromised. It is also confirmed that the NEET UG Paper was leaked by certain people who have now been tracked and arrested by government officials.
A few days later, NTA justified its decision and claimed that the students had been given grace marks to make up for the lost time in the NEET UG Exam. So to understand in short, a student who had scored 632 marks in NEET, could easily secure a rank of 12,000 and was eligible to some top-notch medical colleges. However, with the current blunder that happened, the same score of 632 marks led to a rank range of 40,000+ rendering the aspirant not eligible for even a basic medical course like BDS.
All that being said and discussed, the NBEMS and the NTA authorities decided to postpone the NEET PG Exam to assess the paper leak situation and also come up with some strict measures to protect the integrity of the exam. According to the official statement dated June 22, 2024, the Ministry of Health has chosen to carry out a detailed evaluation of the reliability of the procedures used in the National Board of Examination (NBE) for Medical students' NEET-PG Examination.

Changes in the NEET PG Exam Pattern
Due to the introduction of time-bound parts by NBE, the NEET PG Exam Pattern has changed. The candidate will not be able to move forward with the next section or segment until the time for that particular section has passed. For example, if a section is allotted 30 minutes. but the candidate completes it in 20 mins., he still will not be allowed to move ahead. The candidate can move to the next section only when the 30 mins. allotted for the current section are completed.
As of now, 15th August 2024 is the deadline to apply for the NEET PG Internship. Along with this, the NEET PG exam costs have also been reduced by INR 750. Now the exam fee for the General category is INR 3500, and for the Reserved category, it is INR 2500. To be eligible for the NEET PG Exam candidates must meet the minimum cutoff criteria.

NEET PG Application Dates: The NEET PG Application was made available on the official website of NTA on the 16th of April 2024. Candidates had to register themselves for the exam by using their login credentials, paying the fee, and uploading the relevant documents. The last date to apply for the NEET PG Exam was 6th May 2024.
NEET PG Admit Card Date: The NEET PG Admit Card was released on the official website on 18th June 2024. Candidates had to log in using the credentials created at the time of registration to be able to download the NEET PG 2024 Admit Card. No physical copies of the admit cards are dispatched to the candidates and are only available online.
NEET PG Exam Date: Much in the controversial stage, the NEET PG Exam was officially scheduled for June 23, 2024, as an online CBT. However, owing to a certain unfortunate series of events, the NEET PG exam will be postponed, but no dates have been announced yet.
