Data Interpretation for CAT has seen significant development during the past five years. Prior to 2015, the CAT's Data Interpretation exam was a component of the Quantitative Ability section. Before 2015 and before 2013, there used to be roughly 10–12 CAT questions out of 50 based on 3–4 DI issues. With the addition of questions on logical reasoning, the Data Interpretation part for CAT now has its own sectional cutoff. In the DILR component of the CAT, data interpretation questions increased from 16 to 32 until 2019, when the Covid Pandemic caused the number of questions to drop to 10 to 12.
