Rhodes Scholarship 2026: Gateway to Oxford Opens for Indian Students

The Rhodes Scholarship for India 2026 registration window is now open, according to the Rhodes Trust. By submitting the necessary paperwork and adhering to the application procedures for the Rhodes Scholarship for India 2026, interested applicants who fulfill the eligibility requirements can apply for a fully financed, full-time postgraduate scholarship at the University of Oxford.

Depending on the academic program chosen, exceptional individuals are awarded the Rhodes Scholarship to attend the University of Oxford for two to three years of study. Students may apply if they are between the ages of 18 and 23 (or up to 27 in some situations). Six scholars in all will make the short list and get the scholarship.

• Indian passport or equivalent proof of Indian citizenship (PIO/OCI not accepted)
• University/college transcript showing academic grades
• 10th and 12th standard marksheets (or equivalent)
• For applicants not currently studying in India:
• Proof of at least 4 years of formal study in India in the last 10 years
• Proof of completion of 10th or 12th standard in India
• Completed CV section within the application form ((includes academics, leadership, volunteering, awards, etc.)
• Recent headshot photograph in JPG format.

2. Select an Oxford Course
   • Choose a postgraduate program at the University of Oxford that aligns with your academic and career goals.
3. Prepare Required Documents

     • Personal statement (up to 1,000 words)
     • Proof of citizenship (e.g., passport)
     • Birth certificate
     • 4 to 8 letters of recommendation
4. Obtain University Endorsement
   • Secure an endorsement from your university, which may involve an internal application process.
5. Submit Online Application
   • Complete and submit your application through the official Rhodes Scholarship portal by your constituency's deadline, typically between July and October.
6. Prepare for the Interview
   • If shortlisted, participate in an interview that assesses your academic achievements, leadership qualities, and commitment to making a positive impact.
