The Supreme Court of India has listed the NEET PG SC hearing for two days relating to two separate petitions. On May 22, 2025, a plea demanding transparency and anomalies in the NEET-PG normalization process will be heard by the Apex Court. Additionally, the hearing for the case asking the Supreme Court to give verdict against conducting the NEET PG 2025 exam in a single shift has been set for May 23, 2025.
NEET PG 2024: Supreme Court to Hear Transparency Plea on May 22
The appeal for transparency in the NEET PG examination was first conducted in September 2024, but it has been repeatedly postponed. The plea was recently postponed from its original hearing date, which is May 20. The petition will now be heard by the Supreme Court Bench on May 22, 2025, which is made up of Justice AG Masih and Chief Justice of India Gavai.
The decision would have an impact on the present and next round of NEET PG exams, even though the SC court noted that the plea about NEET PG 2024 irregularities now appears to be pointless. Almost 19 NEET PG aspirants will present their case to the Supreme Court bench, seeking a decision on NEET PG examination irregularities, including issues with transparency, the normalization process, and last-minute changes to the exam format.
NEET PG 2025: Supreme Court to Hear Plea for Single-Shift Exam on May 23
The petition for NEET PG 2025 will be heard by the Apex Court in a single session on May 23, 2025. The Waqf case hearing has caused the petition to be postponed. The United Doctors' Front petitioned the SC to mandate a single shift examination, opposing the two-shift exam arrangement. According to ABP Live, the plea contested the NBE's choice of conducting the examination in two shifts and with distinct question papers, claiming that the normalization procedure for scoring is unclear and compromises merit-based evaluation.
