Course Details

The course offers the students with the Majors and Deepening Specialisations (DS).

The Majors include the compulsory subjects of core covering the important domain areas of the department and eventually drive the candidate towards progressive learning from basic to advance levels.

The Deepening Specialisations criteria allows the students to chose the subjects and professionally strengthen themselves in the areas of their interests.

Admission Procedure

NIFT admission procedure-

The interested candidates have to appear for the written examination test followed by situation test for the shortlisted candidates.

Written examination Test comprises of-

 General Ability Test (GAT)

 The Time duration of NIFT GAT is 120 minutes.

2.Creative Ability Test (CAT)

The test aims at judging the creative and innovative use of color and illustration skills for the concept of development and design.

Situation Test 

The candidate is given a set of materials to analyse the innovative ability and material handling skills.

Minimum Eligibility

  • The candidate must have passed 10+2 examination from any recognized Central/ State Board of Secondary Examination OR
  •  A pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects OR
  • 3 or 4-years diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education OR
  • General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri-Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level/ International Baccalaureate (IB).
