BIT Institute of Technology is established in the year 2001 by Sri Venkateswara Educational Society under the leadership of Sri P. Chandra Mohan at Hindupur which is a fast-growing economic capital of Anantapur District of Andhra Pradesh state. The college is affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Anantapur (JNTUA), approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and also accredited by The National Board of Accreditation (NBA). Sri P. Chandra Mohan whose vision resulted into B.I.T. Institute of Technology is also the Chairman of the college and at the same time, he is also honored as Vice President of Human Rights Protection Mission at Kerala State.
The college campus is spread in 26 acres of land located only at a distance of 100 kilometers from Bangalore (also known as the Silicon Valley of India) and it is just 14 kilometers away from Lepakshi. Bangalore International Airport Devanahalli is well connected by roads to the campus.
BIT since its establishment is focusing on incorporating more and more programmes into its curriculum and a result today BIT provide various undergraduate, postgraduate and diploma course in streams like B. Tech, M. Tech, and MBA. Established with the goal and vision to provide quality technical education to the underdeveloped and developing rural mass and as of now it is being recognized as the only engineering college in the Hindupur proximity which attracts near about 1500 students who are part of the Institute, 200 students reside at the hostel of the college campus. It also employs more than 150 employees under academic and non-academic sections.
In the very short span of its establishment B.I.T. Institute of Technology has achieved a big percent of its objective and promulgated technical knowledge to the students belonging to rural parts of the state and nation, some of the students have successfully placed in multinational companies of the nation and abroad.
