About the Job
We are looking for a data-driven problem solver who can understand complex FinTech model requirements, translate them into clear data needs, and work closely with clients and internal teams to design the right dataset strategy.This role is not limited to data cleaning or analysis. You will be expected to think at a solution and architecture level, including evaluating real vs synthetic data, hybrid approaches, and identifying appropriate public, semi-public, or licensed data sources.
Key responsibilities:
1. Understand client requirements related to FinTech, credit risk, IFRS 9, and financial modeling
2. Break down model requirements into clear data requirements (borrower, loan, financials, macro, defaults, etc.)
3. Recommend the most suitable data approach:
a) Synthetic data generation
b) Hybrid datasets (real benchmarks + synthetic records)
c) Public/semi-public/licensed data usage
4. Identify and evaluate data sources (e.g., Federal Reserve, FDIC, FRED, SEC, industry datasets)
5. Work closely with internal teams to:
a) Define dataset structure and schema
b) Assist in dataset preparation and validation
c) Participate in client discussions to explain data strategy and approaches
6. Support creation of execution plans, proposals, and documentation
