About the Internship
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:1. Design and implement a zero-trust, client-side encrypted cloud storage system resilient even under cloud-provider compromise.
2. Build end-to-end encryption pipelines using AES-256-GCM with strict nonce safety and authenticated encryption guarantees.
3. Generate per-file data keys in memory and apply envelope encryption using externally managed Customer Master Keys (CMK).
4. Integrate external KMS with tightly scoped IAM policies, enforcing encrypt/decrypt separation and 90-day key rotation.
5. Implement OAuth2/OIDC-based identity verification using JWT claims, expiry validation, and least-privilege RBAC.
6. Ensure plaintext never leaves the client by enforcing pre-upload encryption and ciphertext-only storage.
7. Configure immutable object storage (WORM/Object Lock) to provide ransomware resistance and legal-grade durability.
8. Produce deterministic JSON audit logs and integrate SIEM pipelines for event correlation and forensic readiness.
9. Simulate breach scenarios, test cryptographic kill-switches, and validate recovery workflows.
10. Develop threat models and audit narratives documenting system guarantees and failure modes.
11. Replace static secrets with short-lived identity tokens and secure ingress using TLS 1.3 and mTLS.
12. Deliver production-grade systems with audit artifacts demonstrating zero provider trust and identity-first access control.
