About the Internship
As a Cybersecurity Intern at Rowan Rose Ltd, you will work closely with our security and development teams to help strengthen and scale our cloud security infrastructure.Key Responsibilities:
Assist in securing AWS cloud environments, applications, and services
Support implementation of identity and access management (IAM) policies following least-privilege principles
Help configure and monitor AWS security tools such as GuardDuty, CloudTrail, Security Hub, and WAF
Participate in cloud security posture assessments and vulnerability scanning
Assist in reviewing SaaS integrations, CRM systems, and third-party platform connections for security risks
Support the implementation of DevSecOps practices within CI/CD pipelines
Help document security controls, processes, and incident response procedures
Assist in monitoring logs, identifying suspicious activity, and supporting incident investigations
Support API and webhook security reviews across cloud-based systems
Contribute to improving data protection controls for cloud storage and databases
Research emerging cloud security threats and recommend best practices
Assist in ensuring compliance with GDPR and UK data protection standards
Basic understanding of cloud computing concepts (AWS preferred)
Knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals (network security, encryption, access control)
Familiarity with AWS services such as IAM, VPC, Security Groups, CloudTrail, or similar
Understanding of web application security principles (OWASP Top 10 basics)
Basic knowledge of APIs, webhooks, and microservices architecture
Awareness of DevOps/CI-CD concepts
Familiarity with vulnerability scanning tools or security testing concepts
Basic understanding of Linux systems and networking
Knowledge of data protection principles (GDPR basics preferred)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Good written and verbal communication skills in English
