Delhi University, officially known as the University of Delhi (DU), stands as a prominent public university in New Delhi, India. It was established back in 1922 through an act by the Central Legislative Assembly. DU holds the prestigious recognition of an Institute of Eminence by the UGC. Starting its journey with four colleges: St. Stephen’s College (founded in 1881), Hindu College (founded in 1899), Zakir Husain Delhi College (founded in 1792), and Ramjas College (founded in 1917), two faculties, and 750 students, Delhi University has since evolved into India’s largest and globally renowned hub for higher education. Spread across its North and South campuses, the university now encompasses 16 faculties, 86 departments, 91 constituent colleges, and five additional institutes. The Vice President of India serves as the university’s chancellor.

DU admission is based on CUET for all the courses. Also, admission to all the affiliated colleges of the University of Delhi is done in online mode. The university accepts CUET-UG scores for undergraduate courses and CUET-PG scores for postgraduate courses. The basic eligibility for UG admissions is 10+2 from a recognized board and for PG admissions is Graduation in the relevant field from a recognized university. Annually, merit lists are released in rounds on the official website admission.uod.ac.in. The final admission process is conducted through the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS), which evaluates CUET and CUET PG scores. Delhi University holds semester exams twice annually, typically in May/June and Nov/Dec. Following the conclusion of these exams, the results are usually announced within a month. Students from affiliated colleges can check their undergraduate (UG) or postgraduate (PG) semester exam results by visiting the official DU portal at durslt.du.ac.in. Library: The DU features nine huge libraries for students. Central Library, FMS Library, Arts Library, Central Science Library, East Asian Studies Library, Law Library, Ratan Tata Library, South Campus Library, and Braille Library are DU’s nine major libraries. Thousands of books, periodicals, and research papers are available in these libraries. Students can also use the online library of the University of Delhi.
IT: Desktop computers, LCD projectors, and printing capabilities are available in the labs and lecture rooms. There is a university intranet that connects all facilities to the National Knowledge Network (NKN). The university’s libraries collaborate with the Department of Computer Science to improve learning, teaching, and research. The Central Science Library (CSL) is India’s largest science library.
Hostel: In addition to these, Delhi University provides hostels. Delhi University maintains hostels to accommodate outstation and overseas students. There are approximately 19 hostels, some of which are just for women. The hostels are also divided according to the courses taken by students. For example, the Saramati Postgraduate Men’s Dormitory at Delhi University is a distinct hostel for postgraduate male students.

Health Center: A health center is one of the DU campus facilities. University of Delhi course admissions are based on entrance exams including CUET, CLAT, DUET, DU-JAT, and more. DU admissions 2024 for all undergraduate courses, candidates must appear for their respective entrance examinations. Students who qualify entrance examination must proceed to register on Delhi University’s Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal for the seat allocation process. The seat allocation process, which occurs in multiple rounds, considers various factors, including the choice of college and program, the candidate’s position on the merit list, the candidate’s category (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/UR), and the availability of seats.
Since the academic year 2023-24, Delhi University PhD course admissions are based on an entrance examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Delhi University offers a total of 69,554 seats, of which 3,291 seats are specifically reserved for candidates applying under the sports quota. Notably, 85 percent of these seats are earmarked for candidates from Delhi, while the remaining 15 percent are allocated to candidates from other states.

Candidates seeking undergraduate courses must register for the CUET on the NTA’s official website. Online applications for DU PG course admission are available on Delhi University's official website. There is also a portal for M.Phil and PhD applications. Applicants can follow the procedure’s standard steps:
Step 1: Applicants must visit the DU website and select the appropriate gateway.
Step 2: Register with your email address and phone number.
Step 3: Applicants can access the application form after getting the credentials through email.
Step 4: They must enter their educational, personal, and other required information.
Step 5: Choose your course(s) carefully and submit your application together with application fees and scanned copies of your documentation.

DU conducts entrance exams for UG, PG, M.Phil, and PhD degree programs. Entrance tests are administered by colleges for a limited number of undergraduate courses.
