South Asian University 

About the college: The South Asian University (SAU) is an international university established by the governments of the eight member nations of the South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation (SAARC). Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. SAU started its operations in the academic year 2010. The university established to evolve a South Asian consciousness, now offers Master's and M.Phil./Ph.D. level programs in Development Economics, Computer Science, Biotechnology, Applied Mathematics, Sociology, International Relations, and Law. SAU attracts students from all member nations and its degrees are recognized by all the eight SAARC countries.

The South Asian University admission is offered based on the entrance test which is conducted by the university.   • Now, fill up the important details of the candidate and register.
  • The registration fee is INR 670 which can be done both online or through bank draft.
  • If the registration is done through a bank draft, the draft must be sent to the Deputy Registrar, Admissions, South Asian University, Delhi.

The necessary documents required during the admission process are:

  • Any photo ID proof (Aadhar, PAN, Passport, Election ID, etc)
  • Passport-size photo.
  • Signature of the candidate.
  • Class 10 and 12 passing certificates.

South Asian University Scholarships

The scholarships available for students at SAU are listed below.

  • SAU Merit Scholarships: This scholarship is for the MA, M.Sc, and LLM students. Based on the performance in the entrance test, the top two Indian and top two non-Indian students are awarded the SAU merit scholarships.
  • President’s Scholarships: This scholarship is also for the MA, M.Sc, and LLM students. This scholarship is offered to one Indian and one non-Indian student who scores the highest in the entrance test. It is offered for two years and can be renewed after two years if the students deliver satisfactory performance in the first year.
  • SAARC India Silver Jubilee Scholarships for Masters and PhD Programs: This scholarship is offered to those pursuing a Master's or a Doctorate, who belong to one of the countries from Nepal, Bhutan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Maldives, based on merit. It is offered by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.

South Asian University Infrastructure

The SAU has a well-developed infrastructure with multiple facilities.

  • Library: The university has a library with a seating capacity of 100 people. It has almost 14,500 volumes of books covering subjects such as Mathematics, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Law, Economics, Sociology, and International Relations.
  • Hostel: Students who do not reside in Delhi are provided hostels with shared accommodations for both girls and boys.
  • Sports Complex: The sports complex has facilities to play cricket, football, badminton, volleyball, and tennis.
  • Medical Facilities: The university has a health center with OPD facilities. Also, all the students are covered under the Medical Group Insurance Scheme up to INR 1,50,000 which the university fully pays.
