Kalasalingam University Details

The establishment of Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education (KARE), Tamil Nadu took place in the academic year of 1984. The institute was formerly known as Arulmigu kalasalingam College of Engineering and Kalasalingam University. The university has been given the status of “Deemed to be university”. The institute has been recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited with grade ‘A' by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and by National Board of Accreditation (NBA).

Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education has been ranked 61 amongst engineering colleges by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF).

The infrastructure of the institute is spread over and area of 158 acres of land providing all the basic amenities to its students. The basic sporting facilities include an athletic track, Basketball courts, Tennis courts, and a football ground. The other infrastructural facilities include Boys' and Girls' hostel, central and departmental libraries, Cafeteria, IT Infrastructure, Swimming pool, bank facilities, and laboratories. There are several convenience stores in the campus. The campus is entirely enabled with Wi-Fi facility that makes information accessibility easier for students and staff.

The classrooms are properly ventilated and well lit. The laboratories are equipped with the latest technology and the computer systems are well connected through LAN connectivity. The central and departmental libraries house an extensive collection of academic volumes and titles, popular periodicals, national and international journals, and supplementary digital resources. The library of the university has been stacked with informative and relevant books of the latest editions.

The central serves farm of the university contains of file servers and a database server. A mail server, a web server, a backup server, a proxy server, and an e-learning server are a few additions to it.

The faculty members of the institute are well educated and highly qualified. These members use various advanced teaching techniques to make learning easier. Most of the faculty members are experienced in their respective fields and can be easily approached by students.

Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education offers programs at the undergraduate and postgraduate level. Kalasalingam University Courses are offered under several fields such as Technical, Architecture, Science, Commerce, Arts, Business Administration, and Computer Applications. The university also offers programs at the Doctorate level. The institute offers these programs under several specializations. The placements of the university have seen a decent increase over the past few years. The university has its own Industry-Institution Interaction Cell that trains students to become industry ready.
