Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) is becoming one of the popular choices among students for higher education. Recently the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) established by the Ministry of Human Resources and Development, has declared VIT as the number one private institute of the country for two consecutive years. The institute conducts its own entrance examination for admission in its engineering courses by the name of VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE).

  • In the year 2017 a total of 2.23 lakh candidates appeared for the examination and in the next year the total number of students appeared for the examination was 2.12 lakh.
  • Other than 119 cities of India, VITEEE is also being conducted in 167 examination center located in international cities like Kuwait, Dubai, and Muscat.

The Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Exam abbreviated as VITEEE is conducted every year for admission in B.Tech/BE degree programmes offered in VIT Vellore and other VIT Campuses. Any candidate completed 10+2 and aspire to make a career in engineering can apply for the entrance examination.

The number of candidates applying is increasing every year and so is the difficulty level of the examination, so it is important to have a strong preparation before attempting the examination. Here is a quick guide that will make sure that you prepare in the right direction and achieve a good score in VITEEE and other entrance examinations like JEE Mains, MU OET and others.

Understand the concept and make a plan:

Any exam can be excelled only with proper preparation and the mantra to crack entrance examination for VIT is no different. Candidate can achieve the desired success by efficiently distributing his or her time and cover all the important topics of the examination. Candidate needs to understand the evaluate themselves in terms of average time needed for grasping one topic completely and a total number of topics to be covered. Also, each student is different and so is their understanding levels, one student needs 2 hours to finish one topic completely while the other may take 4 hours. Exam pattern of VITEEE is standard as other engineering entrance examinations of the country and aims to evaluate aspirant's understanding of subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English Language. Candidates are given a total of 2 hours and 30 minutes to attempt 125 questions. The best part is there is no negative marking and candidates will be able to attempt all the questions without fear of losing marks.

Even if you are fully prepared for the examination but struggle to keep up with the requirement of examination may cost you losing some important marks. The examination may appear tough in the attempt but once you know what section or question you need to attempt first it will become evidently simpler.
