How to prepare for Quantitative Aptitude for SNAP Exam?

SNAP Exam is conducted by Symbiosis International University (SIU) for admission to management programs in one of the 15 management institutes (Symbiosis Institutes) affiliated to SIU. SNAP Exam is one of the most sought-after MBA entrance examinations conducted across the country. It is seen that a large number of students apply for taking SNAP Exam every year and the number of students along with the difficulty level of the examination is increasing gradually.

SNAP 2020 is scheduled to be conducted on 20th December 2020, 6th January 2021, and 9th January 2021.

Key Points of QA, DI, and DS Section

Quantitative Aptitude, Data Interpretation, and Data Sufficiency is one of the three sections asked in SNAP Exam and also it is considered the toughest one. Solving these questions correctly totally depends on students' practice and their ability to solve questions in lesser time.

  • The number of questions asked in this section would be 40 where in 35 questions are normal questions and 5 are special ones which lead to a total of 45 marks.
  • Each normal question and special question carry one mark and two marks respectively for correct answers.
  • 25% marks would be deducted for each incorrect answer be it Normal or Special question.

How to Prepare for SNAP 2020?

Students are generally advised to start preparing for the entrance examination during the years of graduation. Exams like SNAP require a proper strategy and a consistent practice. Students must plan according to they syllabus of SNAP Exam and the type of questions asked in the exam based on their difficulty level. In order to master this section, the students must combine their ability and skills with strategy and plan of action.

Tips for Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation Section

The most important quality that each student must possess is a good calculation speed along with logical skills and tricks to simplify the questions. Besides, books advised by the experts would help students qualify the exam.

  • Focus more on your speed to calculate as it makes you efficient while solving questions and helps you take lesser time.
  • Go through Class 9th and 10th NCERT Mathematics books and attempt questions from R S Aggarwal's Quantitative Aptitude Book.
  • Learn Table at least up to 20, Square of Natural numbers up to 30, Cubes up to 15, Square Roots, Percentage to fraction conversion and vice versa.
  • Topics such as Percentage, Averages, and Ration & Proportion are the main topics students must be proficient at.
  • Graph questions in this section are generally prepared from newspaper, journal, or any other written sources. The questions generally consist of data that relate with real life scenario.
  • The data given in the question can be of two types namely Absolute and Relative. Candidates are required to understand the nature of the data given and must try to use tricky techniques to handle the situation.
  • Solving mock test papers on a regular basis would help students understand the concrete idea of SNAP Exam Pattern.
