XAT 2017: Prepare with CAT exam to face a month’s gap between the exam dates

With only a month between XAT and CAT, students are expected to prepare for both the exams with equal dedication. XAT, with a longer duration of the exam than CAT, is comparatively student-friendly and is gaining acceptance with a lot of academic institutions with the arrival of the next session. A synchronized preparation for both the exams will ensure good percentiles in both the competitive exams. The non-MCQs are believed to be of great help in scoring a high percentile in XAT.
Practicing mock tests for the CAT Exam with a score of 70 would help the student land close to an estimate of 100 in the XAT. The Data Interpretation section is clubbed with the Logical Reasoning section in CAT. The student has the choice to maximize his/her performance in either the Quantitative or the Data Interpretation section in XAT, preparing for CAT on the same lines. The Quantitative section has 29 questions in XAT as against 34 questions in CAT. The Logical Ability Section is expected to consume lesser time in XAT as compared to CAT making it a little easy for examinees. The Decision-Making section is the only unique section in XAT that requires the student to devote a little extra attention to. Considering this section can emerge an important turning point for a student in terms of the determination of his/her percentile, special focus should be advocated towards developing analytical skills.
