JEE Main 2020 – After a group of four parents filed a petition against CBSE for conducting board exams amidst this outbreak of pandemic COVID-19, the chorus gets louder on various social media platforms and everyone is waiting for the apex court to release their decision on it. The decision is likely to be announced today after the hearing of Supreme Court on the pending CBSE Board Exams. Now that then board exams are likely to be canceled, it would directly impact the conducting of JEE Main and NEET UG 2020 entrance examinations.

The examination conducting authorities are under the pressure from students demanding the postponement of entrance examinations JEE Main and NEET UG scheduled to be conducted in the month of July 2020. The minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal, of Human Resource Development Ministry conducted a review meeting yesterday with the officials of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the National Testing Agency (NTA), and the School Education and Literacy Department. The HRD ministry would possibly announce the postponement of JEE Main and NEET UG entrance examinations after the Supreme Court declares its decision.

This decision will be the center’s reply to the petition filed against CBSE by a group of parents seeking cancelation or postponement of pending board exams of class 12th.

Since the new and revised schedule of JEE Main and NEET UG has already been released by NTA, the social media platforms are flooded with various posts students writing to the National Testing Agency and CBSE persuading them to postpone the exams. Besides, every post by the HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ gets thousands of responses by JEE Main and NEET UG Aspirants demanding the postponement.

The examination dates have been released for both the entrance examinations.

JEE Main 2020 is scheduled to be conducted from 18th July 2020 to 23rd July 2020 and NEET UG 2020 is all set to be conducted on 26th July 2020.

These responses by aspirants of JEE Main and NEET UG are usually followed by hashtags like #HealthOverNeetJEE, #Studentslivesmatter, #NoExamsInCovid, #PostponeJEE.

One of the officials of HRD Ministry says:

“For NEET UG schools and colleges serve as centers and therefore the invigilators will have to be mark their presence. In case the institutions remain closed the exams will have to be rescheduled.”
