CBSE Board Exams - CBSE Board examinations yet to be conducted or not? This is one of the most important questions that students and their parents are seeking answer to. In order to clarify these rumors, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) released a circular on Wednesday. The main objective of this article is to provide students with the correct information as per the notice released by the CBSE. The outbreak of COVID-19 has led to postponement of various examinations including CBSE Board Examinations. CBSE board examination were scheduled to be held in the month of March 2020. Examinations scheduled till 18th March 2020 were conducted successfully and those scheduled after 18th March 2020 have been postponed until further notice.
The entire country has been shutdown due to the Coronavirus outbreak across the country until 3rd May 2020. As per the situation and current status of people being infected from COVID-19, the chances of extending the lockdown are high. People have been restricted to step out of their homes, and all transport services have been suspended.
What CBSE Decided for Board Exams?
There was a meeting held on Tuesday between the HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal and the state education minister, a major uncertainty is being spread about if the CBSE board examinations will be conducted on not.
Manish Sisodia, Deputy CM of Delhi, had advised the HRD Ministry in a meeting to promote the students of CBSE class 10th and 12th directly based on their marks in internal examinations conducted at their respective schools. He suggested this as the board examinations could not be conducted in time. The students of class 9th and 11th have already been promoted keeping COVID-19 outbreak in consideration. This meeting resulted into the most searched questions i.e. Would the CBSE Board Exams 2020 be even conducted?
Anurag Tripathy, CBSE Secretary, also said that the committee is thinking about promoting the students of class 10th based on their performance in the internal examinations. The final decision is yet to be taken by the superiors and students are eagerly waiting for the board authorities to release their final statement.
Latest CBSE Circular Released on 29th April 2020
CBSE released a circular on Wednesday in order to help students and their parents qualify their doubts and confusion. The below given statement is what CBSE released in their circular:
“In this context, it is once again reiterated that remaining examinations of CBSE Class 10 as stated in the Press Release dated 01.4.2020 will be conducted by CBSE,” the circular stated.
“Therefore, there is no change in the position of holding board examinations and the position continues as per information given vide Press Release dated 01.4.2020,” it added.
Which clarifies that class 10th CBSE examinations are canceled ONLY for the minor remaining subjects all over the country. But students belonging to Delhi, whose board examinations were canceled/postponed due to riots would be required to take the major remaining examinations once the lockdown ends.
