WBJEE Dates Released

An Information Bulletin has been released by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board for the upcoming WBJEE Exam scheduled in the year 2018-19. Interested candidates would be able to find details regarding application submission, exam pattern, regulations applicable as on the exam date and otherwise. The exam would be offline based (OMR). The examination would be held in two shifts on April 22, 2018 and would be consisting of two papers - Mathematics (Paper 1) and Physics & Chemistry( Combined) (Paper 2). The candidates can check the required updates relating to WBJEE on the official website.

Candidates appearing in both the papers and who are awarded ranks would be eligible to be admitted to Engineering/Architecture/Technology/Pharmacy across all institutes as per the information released by the website. The candidates who appear for Paper 2 alone would be eligible for admission in the Pharmacy Courses as per the information given by the website. 

Candidates appearing for engineering courses should have qualified their Grade 12 exams in Physics and Mathematics along with either of the following:

  • Biotechnology
  • Chemistry
  • Biology
  • Computer Science
  • Computer Application

WBJEE

Physics and Mathematics apart from any of the above should be studied in a regular mode. The candidates should on an overall basis should have obtained 45% marks in all the three subjects. 40% is applicable for candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribe, OBC and PwD. Candidates should have passed their Grade 12 exams with 30%.

The candidates should be aged at least 17 as on December 31, 2018. There would be no prescribed upper age limit. For Marine Engineering course, though the lower limit is given, the upper limit can be specified at 25 as on December 12, next year.

The WBJEE Application Fee of INR 500 can be paid either in cash/Net Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card/Paytm/e-challan. WBJEE Results were earlier announced in June this year out of which the students on the top of the merit list were from the CBSE Board. About 19% of the students were from the Kolkata Board out of the list of 10,000 students in the engineering course. Six students belonged to CBSE and 3 from WBCHSE  while one was from CISCE in the top 10 merit list of engineering.

There will be two separate papers that would be held:

Paper 1: Mathematics

Paper 2: Combined paper for Physics and Chemistry
