UPSC IFoS 2017 Prelims Results are Out

UPSC has announced the  IFoS (Indian Forest Services) exam prelims results. UPSC has already announced the results of UPSC Civil Services Prelims 2017, and the candidates who had applied for IFoS were eagerly waiting for the results to get announced by the UPSC. The option to sit for IFoS exam is given in the application form of UPSC Civil Services. The candidate can either select civil services or Indian Forest Services or can select to sit in both the exams.
 
IFoS is one among the three All India Services whose selection procedure is slightly merged with the UPSC Civil Services Exam. The candidates for mains exam of IFoS is selected through UPSC Civil Services Prelims exam, but the cutoff for civil services and IFoS exam are separate. Also, the mains exams of both the examinations are conducted separately. The UPSC IFoS results can be checked at the official website of UPSC.
 
The UPSC IFoS Mains paper has the following exam pattern-
 
1) It comprises of six subjective papers.
2) Paper I is of General English which is of 300 marks.
3) Paper II is of General Knowledge which is of 300 marks.
3) Paper III and Paper IV are from optional paper 1 selected out of the candidate's choice comprising 200 marks each.
4) Paper IV and Paper V are from optional paper 2 selected out of the candidate's choice comprising 200 marks each.
5) Total marks of mains are 1400.
6) The candidate can choose two optional subjects among the following subjects subject to certain combinations-
  • Agriculture
  • Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science 
  • Chemistry 
  • Civil Engineering 
  • Geology
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Statistics
  • Agriculture Engineering
  • Botany
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Forestry
  • Mathematics
  • Physics
  • Zoology
 
The candidates who got selected in the UPSC IFoS prelims exam can fill the Detailed Application Form (DAF) from 07-09-2017 to 20-09-2017. The candidates who fail to submit the DAF form before the last date will not be issued the Admit Card of Mains exam.
