UPSC Civil Services Mains Schedule 2017 Released!!

UPSC had conducted the IAS Prelims 2017 on 18/06/2017 for which the results have been announced on 27-08-2017. The successful candidates who got selected in the prelims were eagerly waiting for the UPSC Civil Services Mains Schedule to get released. UPSC has released the IAS Mains Time Table 2017. The students can now check the dates on which all the papers will be conducted. The exam is starting from 28-10-2017 and ending on 03-11-2017. 
 
Here are the details of the UPSC Civil Services Mains Time Table 2017:
 
1) Paper 1 (28-10-17)-
 
The paper- 1 is of Essay Writing which comprises of 250 marks and the time allotted to the paper is 3 hours. The candidate has to write two essays ranging 1000-1200 words in the given time limit. The topic of the essays will be largely based on social issues, women empowerment, current issues, environment, and economy.
 
2) Paper 2 and Paper 3 (30-10-17)-
 
Paper 2 and Paper 3 are of General Studies-1 and General Studies- 2. The GS-1 paper will be held from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and the GS-2 paper will be from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. In GS-1 the questions will come from the topics like Art and Culture, Modern History, Geography, Social Issues and Women Empowerment. In GS-2 paper the questions will come from the topics like Indian Polity, International Relations, Government Schemes and Indian Diaspora.
 
3) Paper 4 and Paper 5 (31-10-17)-
 
Paper 4 and Paper 5 are of General Studies- 3 and General Studies- 4. The GS- 3 paper will be held from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and the GS- 4 paper will be held from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. In GS-4 the questions will come from the topics like Indian Economy, Environment and Ecology, Disaster Management, Government Budgeting, Land Reforms, Science and Technology and Internal Security.
 
4) Indian Language and English (01-11-17)-
 
These papers are qualifying in nature and the marks scored in these papers will not be counted in the final merit. English paper is compulsory for each candidate, and the candidate has to choose any one language among the officially scheduled languages in India. 
 
5) Paper 4 and Paper 5 (03-11-07)-
 
Paper 4 and Paper 5 comprises of Optional Paper-1 and Optional Paper- 2. There will be two papers of optional subjects selected by the candidate among the given subject options. The level of difficulty of optional subjects will be of graduate level.
