Quantitative section: CATEMATICS

This section is the most logic-based section in CAT and is one of those that is the cause of anxiety among many aspirants. In the wake of anticipating what this section is all about, below are a few pointers that would be of help:

· Try to look beyond the formulae

Whenever you read any question, try understanding the objective first and then think about the usage of a formula.

· DI ain't difficult

This section is always about understanding the trend of data series. It requires the knowledge to determine when to calculate and when to estimate. Directly approaching the questions without such focused approach would not land the right way.

3) Cubes of 2-12

· Don't have unread questions till the end

Always scan through the section you are attempting to understand the questions that deserve your time and the ones you might want to reserve later. Select the considerably easier ones and attempt them first-hand.

· MARK option can be used

Lengthy questions that may take time but are not tough can be marked so that you can get back at the earliest to tackle them.

· Do not exceed your time per question

If you devote more than 2 mins for a question, leave that and proceed. Spending more than the required time and getting to nowhere might result in skipping an easy question elsewhere.
