Prepare for JEE Main Amidst COVID-19 Outbreak. How to Utilize Quarantine?

By: Avantika Bhardwaj on Apr 22, 2023

As we all are aware of the fact that various entrance examinations along with JEE Main 2020 have been postponed due to the Coronavirus outbreak and in order to prevent the spread and keep students safe, this decision has been taken. The official notification released on the official website of JEE Main states the new dates and JEE Main Admit card are to be released on 31st March 2020.

On 18th March 2020, the National Testing Agency (conducting body of JEE Main) issued a notice stating the postponement of JEE Main 2020 Exam for April session. The exam was previously scheduled to be conducted on 5th, 7th, 9th, and 11th April 2020 which now has been postponed until further notice. As the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) clarifies, this step of postponing JEE Main 2020 Exam has been taken to avoid Coronavirus spread in the country.

JEE Main 2020

Health Comes First

The higher authorities recommended that their foremost priority is students’ and teachers’ health and there is no point in taking such as huge risk by conducting the examination during this Coronavirus spread (COVID-19). Since the examination was set to be conducted across several examination in various cities of the country and keeping current situation in mind, it would not be considered wise to let students show up at the examination center and come in contact with other students.

Before JEE Main 2020 was postponed, the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) ordered CBSE Board to postpone class 10th and 12th board examinations. Even for CBSE Board exams, the revised schedule will be released on 31st March 2020.

Must and Mustn’t for JEE Main 2020 Aspirants During COVID-19 Outbreak

During this global outbreak of COVID-19, it’s a humble request to all the people out there to avoid stepping outside of their homes and begin preparing for the examination keeping themselves restricted to their homes.

Students must avoid going to coaching institutes for classes and coming in contact of other people. You are not going to regret keeping yourselves isolated these days. Until this severe situation gets normal, we must stop going out and follow the instructions released by the Government.

Students preparing to appear in JEE Main 2020 Exam must start taking online classes as a precautionary measure as we have several options available on various online platforms.

Now that the number of people getting infected by COVID-19 or Coronavirus is increasing rapidly, it is imperative for all to comprehend the seriousness and complexity of this situation.

Below are the safety measures that everyone of us must follow:

  • Keep yourself isolated at home and avoid going out at public places
  • Immediately consult a doctor if any symptoms of cold are there
  • Self-study at home is the best option to prepare for the exam

What Now?

What should be your next step given that JEE Main 2020 has been postponed? The answer should be obvious. Since the new and revised schedule of JEE Main 2020 is yet to be released on 31st March 2020, it is apparent that JEE Main Aspirants have been accorded enough time to complete their preparation.

I would advise students to stay away from any rumors and stay safe without panicking about the current situation. The situation will tend to improve in the coming future and there will be no harm to students’ career.

Since students can’t make it to the coaching classes, many of the institutes have started providing their students with online classes to keep them safe from Coronavirus effects. Read the important instructions given below if you are also to take JEE Main 2020 Exam:

  • Do not miss the online/live classes being broadcast by the experts.
  • Though students can access these videos any time by keeping them in “Watch Later” category, yet they would be advised to attend classes live in order to clear their doubts on the spot.
  • It would be fun and a new experience for students to attend classes online. It requires consistent concentration, so do not distract yourself while attending classes.
  • Keep aside your notes and clear the doubts in between the session.
