Preparation Tips and Questions to Ace Logical Reasoning

Here are some tips that candidates need to keep in mind while attempting LR questions:

Spend less than a minute to read and carefully understand a problem. Investing too much time in reading a particular problem is not recommended. Candidates should have been practicing LR questions to an extent that a brief explanation of the correct and incorrect options can be inferred while reading the problem.

Assumptions should not be made while solving LR problems. One must only rely on the information provided in each when choosing among the alternative responses.

Do not ignore words like "all," "some," or "none" while reading factual information in the given question. Other qualifying words such as "other than," "only" or "unless" are also important. These words play a critical role in precisely drawing the facts to be used in your reasoning.

Pay attention to negative prefixes also, such as non-, un-, or dis-. These can be crucial to specifying the basic facts in the paragraph.

Puzzle-solving is a knack, and the more one starts solving and enjoying logic puzzles, the better it is. That is why a fun way of preparing for this section is by solving puzzles like Sudoku, Crosswords etc. Solve puzzles from puzzle books easily available in the market, and puzzle sites on the Internet, to improve reasoning skills and speed.
