By: Archana on September 24, 2018

It has just been 4 days since the registration for UPTET 2018 has been started from September 18th by Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB) and to the surprise, they already had received more than 1.15 lakh applications. With such overwhelming response, it can be presumed that the candidates were long waiting for the application process to be started and a great number of candidates look forward to making a career in teaching. UPBEB is also expecting to receive around 5 lakhs applications this year.

Over 1.15 Lakhs Applications received for UPTET 2018 Receiving such huge response at the initial phase of UPTET application is not new for the board, the same trend was also observed last year when a total of 9.76 lakh applications were received applying for the posts of primary as well as upper primary level teacher's position. Around 3.49 candidates were for the post of Primary Teacher followed by 6.27 lakh applications submitted for the post of Upper Primary Level Teacher. As last time UPBEB was not aware well in advance about the number of applications they were going to receive, a lot of students highlighted the issues like the crashing of the website being faced at the time of registration. However, the board has assured that the issue will not happen this time as sufficient changes and updates were done so that multiple numbers of students can apply for the examination online at the same time.

Several assumptions have been made regarding the increased number of applicants from last 2 years and one most obvious reason being considered as making the application process completely online, which makes people apply easily also as aadhaar card is not mandatory identity prove to apply for the UPTET 2018 can be a reason for such massive response.
