Official Changes in CTET 2017 Exam

By: Shreyansh on Aug 17, 2017

National Council of Teachers Education (NCTE) is the governing body of the CTET (Central Teachers Eligibility Test) exam. NCTE has brought some changes in the CTET 2017 exam and is in discussion with the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) which is the conducting body of the exam. CBSE is about to announce the notification of CTET 2017 exam which is conducted for the recruitment of teachers for class 1 to 8 in the central government schools.

Here are some important changes made by NCTE which are must know for the CTET aspirants-

1) Mode of the Exam-

This is a large scale change in the pattern of examination as it may affect the preparations of the CTET aspirants. For the first time in the history of CTET exam, the exam is going to be conducted in the Online Mode. That is, the candidates have to give the computer based exam. Till now the aspirants were giving the Offline exam, i.e., Pen and Paper based exam. The candidates have to face now the challenge of solving the questions on Computer. They need to practice the questions on the computer to stay competitive among the other competitors.

2) Number of Exam Times:

Earlier, the CTET exam was conducted twice a year, but now there has been news that the CBSE will conduct the exam only once a year. CBSE has consulted the Ministry of Human Resource and Development regarding the conduction of the exam once a year as the CBSE has been under the burden of conducting multiple exams in a year including JEE, NEET and board exams.

Human Resource Ministry is also in consideration of forming a new conduction authority named as National Testing Service (NST) so that the exams can be conducted in a proper manner thereby ensuring the quality.
