NTA To Increase the Number of Centers for NEET 2020 Exam Considering COVID-19 Situation. Read To Know!

NEET UG 2020 – Now that the exam date of NEET UG 2020 exam has been released by the National Testing Agency (NTA), the next step taken by NTA would be to double the number of exam centers for NEET Exam to maintain social distancing amongst aspirants of NEET 2020. There are currently 3000 exam centers across various cities in India and as per the media reports, it is indicated that the number of centers will be increased to 6000, the exact double of number of current centers. The step taken by NTA ensuring social distancing guidelines while conducting the examination is much appreciated.

NTA to double the number of exam centers of NEET UG 2020

The Ministry of Human Resource Development and NTA have released various notice reiterating how candidates’ health and their safety are their main priorities. These two departments have even amended their policies and procedures of conducting the examination. Any other change introduced by the agency of MHRD will sure be notified to the students.

Number of NEET Registrations Reached Up to 16 Lakh

At the starting of this week, the HRD Minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ went live on Twitter and interacted with students online where he clarified students’ doubts and even released the new exam dates of JEE Main 2020 and NEET UG 2020 Exams. He talked about academic procedures conducted by educational institutes, pending CBSE and State Board Exams, and entrance examinations. The possibility of conducting these examinations still depends on lockdown. The government-imposed lockdown which led to shut down of all the educational institutions.

During the live webinar, the minister informed there are over 16 lakh students who have registered themselves for the examination this year.

  • It would become almost impossible for NTA to conduct the exam with such a high number of aspirants while keeping the number of exam centers same.
  • It is imperative to bring an increase in the number of current centers to facilitate social distancing among the aspirants of NEET 2020 during the exam.
  • The agency plans to keep a minimum distance of 2 meters between the aspirants during the exam.
