In the year 2016, The Supreme Court had made NEET Mandatory and a uniform examination that would determine medical admissions - undergraduate and postgraduate. AIIMS and JIPMER are the only exclusive exams that would be conducted for their respective campuses apart from AIIMS.

In the year 2017, all students in the open category who had been admitted to medical colleges had cleared NEET with a score of 131 marks out of 720.
