NEET 2018

As per the reports, NEET UG is tentatively said to be conducted on May 10, 2018. The notification on application process has still not been released, however going by the schedule of the previous year, the online application process would begin by January end 2018.

NEET UG is slated to be an objective examination for a total duration of 3 hours. The examination would be conducted in ten languages such as Hindi, English, Assamese, Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Oriya, Bengali and Kannada. The exam would be conducted in Urdu in the year 2018. The specific details on NEET UG 2018 would be clear only after the official notification is given out.

NEET was into too many controversies in the previous year. To begin with, students at exam centers had to go through rigorous deadlines. Students who had appeared for the exam in regional languages had made a claim that the questions in regional languages were tougher than that of in English. Further difficulties arose when Tamil Nadu Government sought relief for students belonging to the State. The controversies had resulted in a delay of the declaration of result.

JEE Main and NEET would most likely go online from the year 2019. The two national level examinations would most likely be conducted twice a year in the online format from the year 2019 by National Testing Agency. The NTA is expected to take over this responsibility from Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE for the conduct of these examinations with some basic changes in the formats.

The proposal for NTA is seemed to be approved and the functioning is expected to start from the year 2019. It is to be seen how this would NTA conduct the exam and help lakhs of students and what changes the students can expect?

The HRD Ministry opines that taking the burden of the conduct of exams like JEE Main and NEET from CBSE and enable it to give more time to the improvement of quality in education and the way in which it is imparted to students.
