NEET is the only examination for ensuring admissions to Bachelor Degree programs in the Medicine and Dental streams. The NEET Examination is slated to be hosted by Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE. As students would be waiting for the notification to release, some of the sources have suggested a list of tentative dates for the notification release, the exam would be slated to be held on May 7, 2017. Here is a list of points regarding the NEET Notification and the NEET 2018 Exam.
The sources, however, indicating that NEET may be held on this date is not confirmed.
NEET 2018 Notification is slated to be released in the month of January.
CBSE might also release the notification a little early.
NEET Exam would be conducted by CBSE on a Sunday. CBSE would also be having a discussion with other Boards to ensure, the examination is held on a date which does not clash with exams being held by them, NEET being the sole entrance exam determinant for Medical Admissions.

The JEE Main 2018 date has already been released and it is slated to be held on April 8, 2018, by the Central Board of Secondary Education. The JEE Main 2018 Dates for the online examination is slated to be released by the CBSE.
Meanwhile as per the buzz going on, making NEET mandatorily required to be given for Foreign students to study in Indian Medical Institutes has seen a dip in the admissions in the medical campuses. Every deemed university with medical/dental courses had always 15% quota that was reserved for NRI/Foreign Students. The Study in India Concept seems to be affected by this move. The Seats have been converted to General category with no response from NRIs.
Going by the fact that Indian Students from State Board find it tough to crack NEET, some of the higher authorities have suggested that a separate policy should exist when it comes to Foreign Students. A lot of reputed institutes such as Nitte University get students from Nepal, Malaysia and South Asian Countries.
About 30-40% of Foreign Students out of a 4 lakh Indian students going abroad, come to India to study various courses. Some of them feel that by making NEET compulsory for candidates of a foreign background who have not a base from the CBSE Board find it really tough to crack. Foreign students pay thrice the fees that Indian candidates pay on a usual basis.
Not only there would be a loss in terms of the fee revenue, a diversity that is created by having students from different backgrounds study in institutes, that scope would also get reduced. An environment with a diversity of students creates an exchange of new ideas, new cultures and implementation of new things.
While with such opinions being placed across by various competent authorities, it is to be seen if a revision would be made in the admission policy for foreign students to get them admitted into Medical Courses.
