NEET 2018 examination was conducted on May 6, 2018, and many candidates had to travel outside their respective state as they were allotted examination centres outside to another state esp. the candidates of Tamil Nadu where more than 2,000 candidates had to travel to other states for the examination. The candidates of Tamil Nadu traveled to Kerala, Karnataka and even Rajasthan. Earlier a petition was filed in the Madras High Court as the candidates had to travel outside to state to appear for the examination.
The Human Resource Development Minister, Prakash Javadekar said on Saturday that from next year the candidates won’t need to travel outside their respective state to appear for NEET examination. He said that the examination centres would be set up according to the requirement.
While responding to the questions asked by the media regarding the complaints of candidates of Tamil Nadu the Minister said, “Next year, students traveling to other parts of the country would not happen.” He also said that this year the examination centres were increased to 150 from 107 and from coming year all the districts having more than 4 thousand candidates, will be made a centre. Such step will accommodate students from the surrounding districts also.
The NEET 2018 Counselling for the state of Uttarakhand will start today, that is June 25, 2018. The candidates who have qualified NEET 2018 examination and aims to seek admission in the medical and dental colleges of Uttarakhand must register themselves to participate in NEET 2018 Counselling for Uttarakhand. The counselling in the state will be conducted by Hemwanti Nandan Bahuguna Uttarakhand Medical Education University, Dehradun. The Online registration for the conselling will commence from today and the aspiring candidates can apply for the same till July 5, 2018.
