The Delhi High Court has sought to know the status of the probe in the alleged illegalities in the National Eligibility Entrance Test that was conducted in the previous year in order to admit students into Post Graduate Medical Courses. The High Court Authorities have also asked the Delhi police about the difficulties they were facing on a usual basis in the investigation of the offense, in order to issue directions to the authorities concerned.
The bench had earlier observed that it would not be ordering a court-monitored CBI or SIT Probe into the alleged illegalities. The Authorities had specified that they do not want to monitor the investigation hinting that the Police Authorities were well-equipped with the essentials to be able to do the same.

In case the police are in need of any direction, the court has decided to issue the same on the case. The Police Authorities have been asked by the Court to file the status report of the same to probe the matter in general. The matter has been listed for further hearing on December 13, 2017.
In the course of the hearing, the police have informed the court that eight persons have been arrested and a charge sheet has been filed for the same. The submissions had been made on the plea of Anand Rai, claiming to be a whistleblower in the Vyapam Scam that occurred in Madhya Pradesh, seeking a court-monitored SIT/CBI probe.
A notice had been issued to the CBI, National Board of Examination, Medical Council of India and Prometric Limited who had a sub-contractual relationship with CMS IT Services Private Limited in order to hire engineers, site supervisors and other staff to prepare exam labs for the conduct of NEET PG Examination across 43 centers across India.
The Court had expressed its concern over the delay in the conclusion of the probe and has asked the authorities to file or register their response. A First Information Report was lodged on February 1 against 11 people and a charge sheet was filed on July 9 in this year under multiple sections of the IPC such as 419 (Cheating by Personation), 420 (Cheating) and 120B (Criminal Conspiracy) and under the Information and Technology Act.
NEET has been in the news for quite some time since it has been established as the sole medical entrance examination determining admission to MBBS courses. There are students from the State Boards and others apart from CBSE who would find it tough to acquaint themselves with the syllabus of the NEET Examination. The Maharashtra State Government in view of the same had asked the experts and teachers dealing with subjects constituting the NEET Examination to prepare an exam bank consisting of questions that would be most asked in the NEET Examination that would be of good use to the students.
NEET is most likely to be held on 6th May 2018. The NEET Application Form would be releasing in the month of January 2018 inviting applications from students to write the examination.
