National Eligibility cum Entrance Examination (NEET)is scheduled to be conducted onMay 6, 2018 for the academic year 2018. According to the notification issued by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the Board responsible for conducting NEET Examination, all the newly added centres must either hire or borrow metal detectors from security agencies. In case of not borrowing, then the centres must buy the devices which will cost between Rs. 1000 to Rs. 2000. NEET examination being the highest sensitive examination, the centres must ensure that no unfair practices are performed at the examination centres. The Board also notified that it will reimburse Rs. 100 for each metal detector.

NEET UG 2018

This year 43 new centres have been added for NEET 2018 examination. The notification issued by CBSE states, “As candidates hide communication devices in their clothes, CBSE has sought the use of metal detectors, However, this year many new cities have been added to conduct NEET-UG 2018. These cities will not be having metal detectors with them.” Now the new centres are asked to arrange metal detectors from the local security agencies. Schools are also advised to buy the devices as it would be one-time investment and helpful in future. The centres must arrange one metal detector for every 100 students.

Apart from centres, the board has also issued notification regarding candidate’s dress code earlier this month which included following:

  • All the candidates must wear light colour and half sleeves clothing.
  • Candidates can not wear shoes to the examination centres and should wear slippers and sandals only.
  • Male candidates can not wear kurta payjamas and female candidates wearing burqa and hijab must reach examination centres timely to avoid the hassle.
  • Female candidates must not wear any ornaments. Only married candidates can wear bangles and mangal sutra.

The examination is scheduled for first Sunday of May i.e.May 6, 2018 and the answer keys for the same will be declared by the CBSE in the third week of May, followed by the declaration of results on June 5, 2018.
