NEET 2018: Candidates Puzzled as the Maharashtra State Government Accepts NEET Score for Pharmacy Courses

By: Sakshi Awasthi on June 18, 2018

The Maharashtra Government has announced that the NEET Score will be accepted for admission to Pharmacy courses in the state of Maharashtra. Earlier, the state government had announced at the beginning of the academic year that admissions would be provided on the basis of Maharashtra- Common Entrance Test known as MH-CET. The candidates aspiring to seek admission in the Pharmacy course are currently confused due to the sudden announcement by the State Government.

The candidates believe that the aspirants should be notified at least a year in advance about the examination accepted for the admission. According to the notification released by the state government, the NEET Score, as well as MH-CET Score, will be accepted for the admissions to Pharmacy Courses. The government has yet not disclosed the number of seats which will be filled by NEET candidates.

Dilip Nandanwar, Joint Director of Education (Pune Region), said, “Students may have given a representation of their say about the admission eligibility to the state government. However, it is our duty to follow the rules and carry on with the admissions. From next year onwards, any such change will be notified well in advance so that students do not suffer any loss.”
