CBSE has decided to extend the online registration for NEET 2018. Candidates would now be able to submit the NEET Application by March 12, 2018. The online registration portal would be closing after 5.30 p.m. Earlier the application submission deadline was today.

On 7 March 2018, the Supreme Court had directed the CBSE not to make Aadhaar card manadatory for student enrolment appearing for NEET 2018 and all other Indian exams. A Constitution Bench headed by Chief Justice Deepak Mishra had directed the CBSE to upload the required information on the website.
This announcement by CBSE comes in the event of the decision of the Supreme Court to allow alternative IDs for registration apart from Aadhaar which earlier was made mandatory by the Board as per PTI.
Open school and Private students would be allowed to register for NEET 2018. In addition to Aadhaar or Aadhaar enrolment number, the candidates would be able to fill the NEET Application Form by mentioning their details like Ration card, Passport, Bank Account number or valid ID.
CBSE would be allowing registered candidates one chance to correct their particulars that have been mentioned in the Application Form. Candidates should note, that only one chance would be provided for correction. No opportunity would be given to the candidates after this and no request shall be entertained by CBSE. The Board has also further said that any changes that are related to category, name of parents, qualifying code and exam center should be done within the given time period.
Forty -three new centers for NEET Examination have been added in the year 2018. NEET Examination would be conducted in 150 cities as against 107 in the previous year. All the cities from where 4000 and more candidates have applied and which were not the centers have been added as exam centers for NEET 2018 Examination.
New centers have been set up in Andhra Pradesh (5), Assam (2), Gujarat (3), Odisha (4),Maharashtra (6),Telangana (2), Uttar Pradesh (3) and one new center each in Chattisgarh, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Punjab and Uttarakhand.
NEET in this year would be held on 6 May 2018. Online Application process had begun on 8 February and would be ending on 12 March 2018.
