The Central Board of Secondary Education is most likely to release NEET Notification 2018 for undergraduate courses at the official website. NEET Registration in the previous year started on the same date and would be ending on March 1, 2018. The National Eligibility Entrance Test is expected to be held on the initial Sunday of May, the date being May 6, 2018.
NEET is a mandatory common entrance examination held for admission in all the medical colleges except AIIMS and JIPMER. A lot of students have been anxious about the rumors concerning syllabus change. In the previous week, CBSE has issued a clarification that there would be no changes in the NEET Exam syllabus and in terms of the NEET Exam pattern. The Board has also informed the Supreme Court, that there would be one set of question paper which would be translated into different languages.
The examination would be conducted in English, Hindi, Urdu, Marathi, Gujarati, Oriya, Assamese, Telugu, Tamil and Kannada. NEET has also been made compulsory for AYUSH courses as per various reports. Students being of NIOS origin are also eligible to apply for NEET.
Since the previous year, CBSE has made Aadhaar Card mandatory for registration purposes. The same is not applicable in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, Assam and Meghalaya, however. For NRIs, passport number is required.
It has always been compulsory to appear and qualify in NEET to be determined for admission to MBBS and BDS courses. All the medical colleges that are recognized by MCI/DCI, except exams like AIIMS and JIPMER offer admissions on the basis of NEET Scores. National Eligibility cum Entrance Test would be conducted by CBSE on 6th May 2018.
The NEET Application Fee is priced at INR 1400 for candidates belonging to General/OBC Category. The candidates belonging to SC/ST/PH category would be INR 750.
