The JIPMER 2018 examination was successfully conducted on June 3, 2018, across 291 centres and 130 cities by the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, Puducherry. The examination was conducted in two shifts i.e. Morning Shift (10 AM to 12:30 PM) and Evening Shift (3 PM to 5:30 PM). Nearly 2 Lakh Candidates appeared for JIPMER 2018 for the admissions to 200 MBBS Seats offered by JIPMER Puducherry and JIPMER Karaikal respectively. Out of the total number of seats 100 seats are reserved for the candidates of Puducherry. The Time Duration of MBBS Course offered by JIPMER Campuses is four and a half years which is followed by a year-long mandatory internship.

JIPMER 2018 Paper Analysis:
JIPMER 2018 Question Paper comprised of 200 questions from 5 sections i.e. Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English Comprehension, Logical and Quantitative Reasoning. The questions were based on the assertion and reasoning of the concepts. The question paper carried 60 questions each from Physics, Chemistry and Biology respectively whereas there were 10 questions each on English Comprehension and Logical & Quantitative Reasoning.

JIPMER 2018 examination was easier as compared to AIIMS 2018 and NEET 2018. The Physics section comprised of both Theoretical and Numerical questions. The Chemistry section was entirely based on theory whereas the Biology was slightly difficult as compared to previous years.
Students Reaction:
Vishal a JIPMER aspirant said, “The exam was difficult for me. The toughest section was Physics, but Biology and Chemistry were easy.”
Another student Rajat from Mumbai said, “It was easy to navigate among different sections of the question paper. I found Physics and Logical & Quantitative Reasoning tougher than Biology and English comprehension.”
According to Anjali, “The Physics section was very lengthy and Biology section was medium difficult. Chemistry was the easiest section in the question paper.”
Marking Scheme:
The Candidate will be provided with additional 4 marks for each correct answer whereas a mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
Time Duration:
The Time Duration of JIPMER 2018 was 150 Minutes. The candidate was required to answer 200 questions in 150 minutes.

JIPMER Answer Key will be declared soon after the declaration of the JIPMER Result. The students can also challenge the Answer Key by sending Objection or Suggestion to the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, Puducherry.
