JIPMER 2018: Counselling Starts from June 26

The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, Puducherry will be conducting the first round of counselling from June 26 to June 28, 2018, for admissions to MBBS programmes offered by JIPMER Puducherry and JIPMER Karaikal. The candidates who qualified JIPMER 2018 will be called by the Institute on the basis of their rank. The counselling procedure will involve the verification of certificates and biometric information at the academic centre.

The Category-wise merit list was released by the Institute on June 18, 2018. The medical examination of the candidates with disability (OPH & P-OPH Category) will be conducted by the medical board of the Institute on June 25, 2018.
Candidates must carry following documents for Counselling:
- Original Certificates or Bonafide certificates (Duly attested by the Institutions)
- Residency Certificates issued by the competent revenue officer
- Aadhar Card (Original)- along with self-attested photocopies
- Hall Tickets (Original)- along with self-attested photocopies
During Counselling procedure, the candidate is required to make a choice between the two campuses i.e. JIPMER Puducherry or JIPMER Karaikal. Once the institute opted by the candidate cannot be changed later. Sliding from one campus to another is not allowed by the institution and the candidates will not be permitted to change their category.
Nearly 1.56 Lakh candidates appeared for JIPMER 2018 examination. The entrance examination was conducted in two shifts. A total number of 81,960 candidates appeared for Shift 1 whereas 74,462 candidates appeared for Shift 2. The examination was conducted on June 3, 2018, at 291 examination centres across the country. The JIPMER 2018 Counselling will be conducted for 200 seats which include 50 seats of JIPMER Karaikal.
