CBSE would be releasing the JEE Main 2018 Notification by the end of November month. Once the date for JEE Advanced 2018 was announced on 20 May, tentative dates would be most likely released for JEE Main. JEE Main 2018 is the exam that determines to qualify for JEE Advanced 2018. JEE Advanced is to be conducted between April 1 and 8, 2018. The dates have not been confirmed by CBSE.
As per the notification, that was released on the JEE advanced official website, about 2,24,000 candidates who would clear the JEE Main 2018 would be applying for JEE Advanced 2018. There is an increase by 4000 in terms of the number of applications since 2017. This increase is being attributed to the increase in the number of seats in IIT all over the country as was announced by MHRD.
CBSE conducts JEE Main every year on the clearing of which candidates would be applying for engineering seats. While many states across make use of JEE Main scores for determining admission into State Engineering Colleges. Admission to National Institutes of Technology is on the basis of merit in JEE Main Examination.
The notification for JEE Main online applications 2018 is expected in November and the online application forms would start being available from November and December. The updates regarding JEE Main 2018 would be made available on the official website wherein the candidate would be able to check for updates.

JEE Main Admission would commence after the counseling is over. Candidates would be required to submit their documents to allotted colleges and complete admission formalities inclusive of payment of admission fees. Once the JEE Main Results are announced, students would be requiring to enter their admit card and roll number details to be able to generate their JEE Main scorecard.
From the year 2017, board marks would not be considered into account for determining JEE Main merit, candidates wishing to take admission into IITs, IIITs, NITs, and CFTIs must score a minimum of 75% in their Grade 12 as a mandatory eligibility criteria.
The JEE Main Answer Key and response of the respective papers would be released in the month of May once the exam is done. If the answers that are being made available, the candidates are free to express their views regarding the same. A payment of INR 1000 would be required to be made to be able to make a revision in the same.
JEE Main 2017 Cutoff released in 2017 was lower in comparison to the previous years. The JEE Main cutoff is the minimum score that a candidate must get in order to get admitted in one of the top colleges in India.
