Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE is likely to release the JEE Main Admit Card for the Joint Entrance Examination, JEE Main 2018 by March 12, 2018.  As per the instructions given on the JEE Main bulletin, the candidates who have submitted their application and paid the relevant application fees until the last date would be allowed to appear in JEE Main and their admit cards shall be uploaded on the website as per schedule.

The JEE Main Admit Card can be downloaded from the website from the second week of March onwards. The candidates are advised to download their JEE Main Admit Card from the official website. A help desk is going to be made operational on the website on all working days from 9 am to 5. 30 pm for facilitation purposes. The phone numbers of the help desk shall be made available on the JEE Main official website.

As per CBSE Sources, JEE Main Admit Cards would either be released on March 12, 2018, or latest by March 13, 2018. This is, however, a tentative date, candidates would be required to check the website regularly for related updates.

The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India has notified the following two changes in the JEE Exam Pattern 2018:

  • No weightage for Grade 12 Marks in the rank determination for JEE Main Examination.
  • Candidates who qualify admission in IITs/NITs/IIITs and other CFTIs whose admission would be based on JEE Advanced/JEE Main Ranks, should secure a minimum of 75% marks in Grade 12 Examination or at least be in top 20 percentile in the Grade 12 Examination, that is conducted by the respective Boards.
  • For candidates belonging to SC/ST, the qualifying marks should be 65% in Grade 12 examination.

For States such as Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Nagaland, Odisha and some other institutes that have joined JEE Main system, their admission criteria shall be notified by the relevant authorities. The candidates seeking admission to the institutions in these states, which were based on the state level examination, would be advised to fill the JEE Main Application Form online.

The Paper 1 (BE/Btech) would determine the eligibility for JEE Advanced. The candidate would have to take this exam if aspiring for admission to undergraduate programmes that are offered by IITs.

Since there is no weightage of Grade 12 marks in the calculation of JEE Main Ranks, the roll number of Grade 12 is not verified this year by the CBSE. The candidates would be required to show the Grade 12 Marksheet with 75% at the reporting centers at the time of counseling in IITs/NITs/IIITs and other CFTIs.

The JEE Main Important Dates 2018 are as follows:
