JEE Main 2019: Paper 1 Analysis and Expected Cutoff

The first slot of JEE Main Paper-1 2019 has been successfully conducted by the National Testing Agency on January 9, 2019. The examination was conducted in an online mode across the country. This was for the first time that JEE Main 2019 examination was conducted in an online mode. JEE Main Paper-1 remaining slots are scheduled to be conducted on January 10, 11 and 12 respectively.

The difficulty level of the Paper-1 (Slot 1) was moderate and if the candidate has solved past 10 year’s question paper, they can easily qualify the JEE Main 2019 examination with a good score. The question paper was drafted to check the understanding of basic concepts of the candidates and some of the questions were similar to the same in NCERT books.

Based on the questions and marking scheme, JEE Main 2019 Cutoff is expected to lie between 73 to 78.

JEE Main 2019 versus JEE Main 2018:

  • As compared to the previous year JEE Main question paper, this year the examination was moderately difficult
  • The Mathematics section this year was lengthier than last year and involved more calculations
  • The exam pattern was similar to past 5 years but the question paper involved a few tricky questions
