JEE main 2019: Application Form Correction Begins

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started the Online Application Correction facility for the candidates who registered themselves for JEE Main January 2019. NTA also released a notification stating that numerous candidates have submitted their application form with incorrect data. The one-time correction facility has been initiated to provide an opportunity to the JEE Main 2019 January applicants to correct their application form before October 14, 2018 (11:50 PM) on the official website of Joint Entrance Examination and National Testing Agency at jeemain.nic.in and nta.ac.in respectively.

The notification released by the NTA notified that ‘In order to ensure that the data of the candidates of JEE Main-January 2019 is error-free and candidates do not face any hardships, later on, NTA is providing a One-time correction facility to the candidates in their Online Application Form except change of city of examination.'

Steps to correct JEE Main Application Form 2019:

  1. Visit the official website of NTA or JEE Main at nta.ac.in or jeemain.nic.in
  2. Click on the ‘Login for Correction' button highlighting on the home page.
  3. Enter your credentials and make the required changes
  4. Submit the Application Form

The Online Application Process for JEE Main 2019 January attempt ended on September 30, 2018. The examination is scheduled to be conducted from January 6 to January 20, 2019. JEE Main Paper 1 will be conducted on January 6 & January 20, 2019, whereas, Paper 2 will be conducted on January 8, 2019, in two shifts. The first shift will be conducted from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM and the second shift will be conducted from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. The notification regarding examination city and centres will be released by the National Testing Agency on November 15, 2018, on the official website of NTA.

Changes introduced in JEE Main 2019:

  1. Mode of Examination: Paper 1 will be held in computer-based test mode whereas, Paper 2 will be in the Computer-based mode for Mathematics and Aptitude and Paper-and-pen-based mode for Drawing.
  2. Twice a year: The examination will be conducted twice a year. The candidate can appear for either one or both.
  3. Age Limit: There is no maximum age limit to appear for JEE Main examination. The candidate must have passed Class XII in 2017, 2018 or must be appearing for the Class XII examination in the year 2019.
  4. Revised Application Fee: The JEE Main Application Fee has been reduced for each category.
  5. Mock Test: NTA already started registrations for Mock Tests and the aspirants can practice these tests regularly to enhance their understanding about the actual examination.
  6. Test Practice Centres: NTA has organized practice centres at 2,697 colleges and schools with computers.
  7. Unique Question Paper: NTA is getting a huge databank of questions being prepared with the help of subject experts, educationists, psychometric test experts etc. Due to this system, each candidate will get a unique question paper in which questions will be randomly picked.
